We are not just groomers, we are lovingly owned by cats, and we are motivated by what is best for our feline superiors.
Stacey Richolson is a Registered Veterinary Technician that graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Gwinnett Technical College in 2004. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Auburn University. She has been in the Veterinary field since 1996, but has worked exclusively in feline medicine since 2004. She started Sophisticated Mane In-Home Feline Grooming in January 2016. From the time she was a child, Stacey has loved cats. She would even “adopt” the neighborhood strays, and tame and take care of them. Stacey currently shares her home with her husband and several cats of her own, plus fosters from Refuge Rescue. In her spare time, Stacey volunteers with Refuge Rescue. She enjoys traveling, attending music concerts/festivals, and reading. Stacey is a member of the Professional Cat Groomers Association of America and the National Cat Groomers Institute of America.
Stacey is joined by Julie Stout, Bowen Cheek, and Jess Simon.
Cats have been a part of Julie Stout’s life since her childhood. As she grew up, her love for them grew as well. She has been volunteering with various feline rescue organizations since 2012. Julie started giving specialized care for her own seniors/special needs kitties in 2006 and as a volunteer in 2012. Currently, she is a feline foster mom for Refuge Rescue as well as their Social Media Specialist. When Julie is not assisting with Sophisticated Mane, she is also a cat-only petsitter with Paws & Purrs Feline Services. Julie is a Certified PetSaver from PetTech with training in CPR and First Aid & Care for dogs and cats. She currently shares her home with several cats of her own, as well as foster cats for Refuge Rescue and one dog, Sasha.
Bowen Cheek started working with cats in 2012 when she started volunteering at Good Mews Animal Foundation. She currently is a member of their Kitty Buddy program which works to socialize shy kitties to people and the shelter environment. In 2014 she joined the staff of a veterinary clinic as a kennel/veterinary assistant, but soon discovered that she enjoyed providing care to cats in a different way. Bowen, besides assisting in the care of Sophisticated Mane kitties, also is a cat-only petsitter with Paw & Purrs Feline Services. Bowen has fulfilled the requirements to become a Free-Fear Certified Professional. Besides caring for her furbabies, P Kitty and Sylvester, she loves to read and watch movies. Before she discovered her passion for animal care, she studied foreign languages and worked for Habitat for Humanity.
Jess Simon has loved cats more than anything for as long as she can remember. When she was younger, she would always play vet with her stuffed kitties and ensure they were healthy and well fed. As she grew up, she felt a responsibility to make sure all cats would find a home to fit their personality by volunteering at a local Humane Society where she worked to socialize the shy and feral cats, trim all the cat’s nails and bathe them if needed. Jess has also worked as a bather at PetSmart where she has learned to calm an agitated animal in the tub. Jess currently has one spoiled cat of her own, Gracie “Poobells” Bella. Gracie enjoys bathing with Mama and trips to see other cats!
Together we are able to make your feline family members look and feel their best!
